Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway is a wooden system. It was originally produced by Learning Curve from 1993 to 2011, and Tomy from 2011 to 2012 before the license from RC2 was acquired by Fisher-Price. Most of the existing products were released and redesigned. In 2014, a direct-to-consumer model was created featuring an e-commerce website, mail order catalog, and a partnership with 20 specialty stores featuring a range of exclusive products. The program ended in 2016 with the products later being sold on the Fisher-Price online store. The Wooden Railway range was discontinued at the end of 2017 and replaced by the Wood range.
