Thomas and Friends Adventures is a die-cast metal system which replaced the Take-n-Play system. The range mostly features products already released in the Collectible Railway range, such as vehicles with clip connectors, and existing play sets re-released in a new gray track system with redesigned connections. The range primarily focuses on adventurous fantasies such as being astronauts or pirates. For a short period, Adapter Packs could be ordered directly from Mattel to enable compatibility with Take-n-Play products. The Adventures range was discontinued at the end of 2018 and replaced by the TrackMaster Push Along range, which is compatible with the TrackMaster range.
